Welcome to the world of fasteners.  While some of your are familiar with fasteners, we realize not all of our customers will know what our descriptions mean.  Following are some the abbreviations and what they mean.  If you have any questions on what type of fastener you need please contact us.

NC = National Course Thread

NF = National Fine Thread

Gr2 = Grade 2 low or medium carbon steel

Gr5 = Grade 5 medium carbon steel, quenched and tempered

Gr8 = Grade 8 medium alloy steel, quenched and tempered

Zn = Zinc Blue Plating

PL = Plain or Black

HDG = Hot dipped galvanized

HH = Hex Head

CB = Carriage Bolt

SS = Stainless Steel

ST = Self Tapping
